Academ-ED and its subsidiaries are committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy discloses the terms and conditions followed in Academ-ED and its subsidiaries. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to “Academ-ED ” include Academed LLC, academ-ed.com, academedonline.com, academedcourses.com and other subsidiaries to be disclosed from time to time.

Information we gather
We collect information from you when you access Academ-ED and when you subscribe to our publications, magazines, associations and email service. As usual with most institutions, organizations on the internet, Academ-ED tracks web browsing patterns to inform understanding of how our sites are being used.

Our use of your information
We use your IP address primarily for statistics and to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website by identifying (1) which parts of our site are most heavily used, and (2) which portion of our audience comes from within the Academ-ED network. We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means that user sessions will be tracked, but the users will remain anonymous.

Device Information Collected
We may collect non-personal information about the computer, mobile device or other device you use to access Academ-ED, such as IP address, geolocation information, unique device identifiers, browser type, browser language or other information of this nature. We use this information in an aggregate fashion to track access to Academ-ED. At no time do we disclose site usage by individual IP addresses. Web server logs are retained on a temporary basis and then deleted from our systems.

Cookies
Cookies are small files that are stored on your computer (unless you block them). We use cookies to understand and save your preferences for future visits and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. Email Subscriptions
The Academ-ED allows you to subscribe online, and receive our various publications via email. If you no longer wish to receive this email, follow the “unsubscribe” instructions located near the bottom of each email.

If you send us email messages, you should be aware that information disclosed in email may not be secure or encrypted and thus may be available to others. We suggest that you exercise caution when deciding to disclose any personal or confidential information in email. We will use your email address to respond directly to your questions or comments.

Email Policy
We will not share, sell, rent, swap or authorize any third party to use your email address for commercial purposes without your permission.

User Generated Content & information provided by you
We offer opportunities for you to engage in discussions, forums, group participation on Academ-ED, including submitting comments and replies on selected articles, blogs, posts or news stories. Any information you disclose in your submission of comments, including name, email, website, and the comment itself is property of Academ-ED and visible on internal servers. Additionally, information regarding name and comments shall be public on the Academ-ED’s sites once a comment or reply is approved for submission on the website. Comments are up to the discretion and approval of Academ-ED authorixed personnel.

If you choose to use Academ-ED’s sites and applications, any of the features of these sites, including but not limited to RSS, API, software and other downloads (collectively, “the Services”), you will be agreeing to abide by all of the terms and conditions of these Terms of Service between you and Academ-ED.

Academ-ED reserves the right to reject or remove thereafter any content from appearing on its site that does not meet its user generated content policy.
To communicate effectively with visitors to our website, we may ask you for personally-identifiable information that can include, by way of illustration, name, email address, or phone number.

Academ-ED will never sell or trade personally-identifiable information you voluntarily provide to us such as name, email address, or phone number, to other colleges, universities, nonprofit organizations, or businesses unless one or more of the following conditions apply:

User Generated Content Terms of Use
You shall not upload to, or distribute or otherwise publish on to the Academ-ED’s websites (“Services”) any libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive, or otherwise illegal material; any comment deemed to contain any of the above following. You agree that you will not deliberately disrupt discussions with repetitive messages, meaningless messages or “spam.” You agree not to use language that abuses or discriminates on the basis of race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual preference, age, region, disability, etc. You may not impersonate another user or a Academ-ED’s staff member by choosing a similar screen name. You must disclose conflicts of interest. Any comments deemed containing the above will not be approved for distribution or, if approved, will removed thereafter.

You acknowledge that any submissions you make to the Services (i.e., user-generated comments (each, a “Submission”) may be edited, removed, modified, published, and displayed on the Academ-ED’s websites (“Site”) and you waive any rights you may have in having the material altered or changed in a manner not agreeable to you. Submissions made to the Services may also be included in our RSS feeds, APIs and made available for republishing through other formats.

Academ-ED reserves the right to delete, move, or edit Submissions that it deems abusive, defamatory, obscene, in violation of copyright or trademark laws, or otherwise unacceptable.

By making a Submission, you are consenting to its display and publication on the Site and in the Services and for related online uses.

When you share or recommend (with or without adding your own comments) any articles or content from the Services to your Instagram, Tumblr, Red-it, Linked-in, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ profile or other social sites, that action is governed by their respective Privacy Policies.


Information Protection
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the appropriate use of information we gather about you, we have taken commercially reasonable steps to protect the information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure.
